Safe Zone LTGY meta

We all know this card is awesome since its first introduction. The first pro players who made it popular in TCG is none other than Billy Brake, in his Inzektor build. Now, OCG players are using Safe Zone in nearly every Evilswarm deck (some has dumped Zone in favor of Master Key Beetle and XYZ Reborn/Forbidden Dress).

Since I'm too lazy and I only want to test my current favorite deck on DN (Karakuri), I think I have found some neat combination here:
- Naturia Landoise + Safe Zone is neat vs E-Dragon. Now you don't have fear Landoise getting run over by big beaters.
- Burei/Bureido + Safe Zone is strong vs Water. Big Eye can't target your boss (so can't steal anything), Gaios dies to Burei's second effect, or dies to Bureido bumping head.
- When your foe declares attack on any Karakuri monster, you can chain Safe Zone to the "switch to def" effect, you now get a pseudo Spirit Reaper.
- Safe Zone + Bureido is surefire draw each turn. Safe Zone + Anatomy is surefire 2 draws too.

The only liability is, Safe Zone is lame vs Prophecy if you are going second. Oh well even without Safe Zone, going second vs Prophecy is lame anyway.

Learning

I have to admit, I'm really lucky in life (I mean life, not YGO lol). I'm naturally carefree, so you may say such mentality won't help you to be a better person. However I always encounter with tough problems that I can't avoid, which develop my maturity.

First thing to note is, the ability to control the pace of the games. When I first enter the YGO competitive circle, I play like an idiot and of course the only thing I'm sure of is copying what the pros were doing, and repeat it using the exact same cards. However, things go out of control as I become friend with another player from my mother land, we both chose to pilot X-Saber (Rescue Cat banned). We get on YVD (Yugioh Virtual Desktop, sort of Duelingnetwork these days), hmm every day, and we play the mirror match non-stop. It's always a match with endless possibilities because X-Saber is very explosive and conservative at the same time. You can't play aggressively because it's very vulnerable to an opposite Gottom's Emergency Call (you can steal dead synchros from it), Dark Hole and Torrential Tribute. You can't always play conservatively because of Gottoms and Trishula (it was more skilled when Trishula wasn't around, because in the Saber mirror match 1 successful summon of Trishula will usually win you that game). These matches definitely taught me to how to tempo (like how the pros say, "switch gear", when to be aggressive, when to be conservative).

Second thing to note, is the ability to bluff. I learned it from my friend, who was the one who Set Airbellum with no spell trap, so I'm convinced that Set is 100% Emmersblade. I didn't attack into it, then next turn fall prey to his Faultroll play. When I lost that game, of course I was salty about it, but it turns out that my hate for his lucky "bluff" slowly develops into the bluff games. Lol, I should have noticed Karakuri OTK  doesn't have room for my bluffing skill to be used. However when I picked up my OCG Karakuri deck for the 3rd win a mat event, I get a warm feeling, telling me "this deck should be treated like my old Saber deck". LOL

That's all for today. Cya.

YCS Lille report

Pre-saturday

To be honest, my memory is fading away, there are so much to do at the moment. However, I think I shouldn't hide it away from people, and hope you can learn some random things from my report. Here we go.

The week before YCS Lille I were testing with Ktem and Tud (you might recognize who he is ^^ ). To be honest, it was just two nights, as Ktem planned to go to his friends' house in Lemans (many more players over there than Rennes), and Tud prolly had done his testing works already. During these two nights, my choice (Karakuri Duplication spam) proved to be consistent enough to pull out the OTK from nowhere, especially when I play versus Mermail because they barely have any defense. Tud wanted to try my deck so I let him try it. In his hand, sometimes the starting hands were unplayable, but it turned out to be OTK-ish if I happen to draw to my 7th or 8th card. Tud still didn't like it, but I still play it anyway, because as long as I shuffle well mathematically these hands shouldn't happen. Besides, I have no real options to switch to (I'm also comfortable with Inzektor, but I don't like the idea of being killed from a Spellbook of Fate banishing Hornet).

After a long ass crazy shit voyage, we were able to get to our hotel (1h15 AM). Cocolo and I had some fun playing vs his Masked Hero (or Sven Hero.dek). I even had a random duel with Gaetan where he opened too many Wind Up Factories for me to handle. lol.

Saturday

Round 1: vs Natsuo Nagakawa Mermail

Game 1 I made a big push but was unable to OTK. I ended with a field of Bureido, Burei, Zenmaines, Burei(?). Forgot to use Burei to switch Zenmaines to def, so next turn he punished me with Big Eye and friends (Zenmaines got killed by 3 attacks in the same battle phase lol).

Game 2 I had the advantage with Swift Scarescrow, Maxx C in hand, and Dimensional Fissure on field. He end phase MST Fissure. After some turn, we have to play in time, which he won.

======
Round 2: vs Seb Moghim Mermail

Game 1 I won by a swift OTK

Game 2 I lost to Big Eye

Game 3 Where it's frustating because we are playing in time again, and people are watching. He has the LP lead (by 2000), but I have the card advantage. It's my last turn (turn 4), I know he has 2 Lindes set, so I'm forced to use Instant Fusion (difference: 3000), and finally have a field of Bureido, Bureido, Burei(?), Landoise(?). I manage to reduce the difference to 1000, and Bureido still hasn't attacked yet. However he special'd Spike from 2nd Linde, discard Infantry as cost, which destroys Bureido. I then later am more salty because he runs only 1 Infantry.

He then later top 32. Congrat.
As for myself, since I knew Natsuo is a very good player, I still believe to go on.

======
Round 3: vs Karim Salmi Dark world

Game 1 He made a misplay: activating Mind Crush in my Stanby Phase, declaring Emergency Teleport (last turn he used DDV). I chained both to make Zenmaines, then camped for a couple to turn to comeback.

Game 2 He had Card Destruction, 3x Dragged Down.

Game 3 I made naturia Beast successfully.

======
Round 4: vs Rafaella C (Mermail)

Game 1: I split my ressources into 2 pushes, he can't recover from the 2nd push.

Game 2: We are using Black Rose to bomb each other, after a couple of turns I end up victorious.

======
Round 5: vs Dennis H (Dino Fist)

Game 1: I won the dice, made a huge field.

Game 2: He goes first turn Tiger King, set 5. I look at my hand and know if I let him flip his Tenki next turn I will be unable to comeback. So I YOLO Storm and eat Starlight.

Game 3: Same as game 1.

So I'm 3-2 now.

======
Round 6: vs Sven (Masked Bubble beat)

Game 1: I didn't count in Mirror Force, so when I see him flipping it my heart is crushed =.=

Game 2: I have a hand that doesnt have tuner. But if he attacks my facedown Soldier I will have everything to OTK him. During his turn, he uses A Hero Lives to make Abyss Dweller, which attacks my Set Soldier (no fear Snowmans), declaring Dweller's effect. I draw for my turn, not a tuner! I also have Reborn but that doesn't do shit when he has Dweller (cuz I only have Soldier in grave). I set some more cards, end. He OTK me next turn.

I'm Out of the Main tournament. At this point I'm very mad at myself because I tend to lose too often to Big Eye, Black Rose when I go first and already made my big field. Also, losing to a single Dweller is frustasting. Ideas keep rising in my head but unfortenately the registration for Side events is closed.

When we have dinner at KFC I'm still too salty, so I rarely speak anything funny.

The night ends up being shorter than the last night because Gaetan is so noisy (snoring guy). Cocolo is testing alone again. T_T Finally we have time to play some games but we then find out that we are already too tired.

Sunday

I end up using the OCG Karakuri build, with a little adjustments from Cocolo.

Win a mat 1:
I'm paired against a Samurai guy. We are in game 3, where I have 2 synchros on field, and he has Zanji with 1 card in hand. He topdecks Hand of the Six Samurai, then use his in hand Aceticism to nuke my field and attacks for game.

uMad? lol

Win a mat 2:
I enter the final vs a Wind Up player. Because I have time to look at his gameplay during earlier rounds, I find out that he doesn't understand the basic concept to use Rabbit's effect on Rat so he will have free XYZ next turn. Game 1 I build my advantage and steadily kill him. Game 2 he goes first, with 3 Factories and Judgment! Game after some turn, he is left to topdecking (no card in hand nor field), while I'm having Stardust and Burei on field and 2 cards in hand. He topdecks Reborn, use it to get my other Burei, uses its effect to switch my Burei to defense, kills it. I keep drawing non-defensive cards. He ends up winning.

Salty again. Fucking Reborn.

Win a mat 3:
I unfortunately see one of my opponents is a former YCS Champion and numerous times YCS Finalist, today he's playing Dino Fist. I meet him in the final. Game 1 goes in my favor as I bluffed Haipa successfully, next turn I activate Karakuri Anatomy, flip haipa, then attack to get 2 counters, blow up my Anatomy to draw 2. I win game 1 thanks to double Lances. Game 2(or 3?) he is having too many traps, I draw Judgment, set it, plan to spam Black Rose next turn with the help from Judgment. However next turn I topdeck Storm to completely destroy the balance. From Bureido's effect I get Reborn too, which is too unlucky for my opponent.

Unlike other people's report, he's nice, and his plays aren't shady like people think.

Finally, I have achieved some shit, I chill out with Ktem, watching the YCS Final from a giant screen, but we end up sleeping at same time cuz of the lack of sleep. (lol).

Before parting, we chill out at McDo with Nantes and Caen people. Gaetan gets mad again because Killian taunted him "Wind Up (his deck) doesn't need skills to play" (clearly a taunt). So Gaetan hovers to our table blabla'ing about his angry sentiment. I tell him "No the most skill-ess deck is Karakuri OTK". Everyone laughs after that lol.

So this was what I used:

The gem of the deck is Machine Duplication. So the deck now can guarantee a field of 4 synchros if you have a starting hand of 2 non tuner, 1 tuner lv3, Duplication:
1. lv5+lv3 = Bureido, eff ss Komachi
2. Duplication targets Komachi
3. Use extra summon from Komachi to normal summon a non tuner monster, for example, Karakuri Soldier.
4. Soldier + Komachi = Burei, eff ss Karakuri Ninja Nanashick
5. Nanashick + Komachi = Bureido, eff ss Soldier/Ninja Kuick (or Merchant)
6. Use Burei's effect to switch position of whatever non synchro karakuri monster, draw 2.
7. Komachi + Merchant/Soldier/Kuick = Naturia Beast/Catastor or Landoise

You lose 4 cards in exchange for 4 synchros on the field and 2 freshly draws.

Total damage: 2800 + 2800 + 2600 = 8200, as for Landoise, you will often use it to attack facedown Linde, then negate its effect. OTK!!!

The OCG build which I used to win my 3rd Win a mat tournament is inspired from this:

Lolzy

Courtesy from a report of Bribignac, judging WCQ Regional Paris/Epita (07/04/2013). You can read the entire article here: http://kingyugi.fr/forums/viewtopic.php?id=26118&p=3

I find it hilarious so I'll just make a translation for everyone (hope I can do this job better than Google translate :)   ):

10 hard to believe situations:

10. A mermail player was able to make Black Rose while he was in a pinch under Macro Cosmos/Shock Master.
9. A Hero deck in the final match.
8. "Judge! I heard from someone my opponent cheated. Can you check his deck to see if he ran more than 1 Gateway?"
7. "Judge! Why did I have to take a Game Lost because I forgot to de-side from last round?"
6. "It wasn't an extra draw! I just forgot that I was under Reckless Greed"
5. "Judge! My opponent has dropped Gorz. Can I use Veiler on his token so it's down to 0 atk?"
4. (A question from a player, when Round 2 is finished) "I lost my first match, can I top or it it better to drop?"
3. 2. 1. not very interesting, I shall pass on them.

PURE GENUINE OR PRO CHEATER

For those who don't know, recently there is a resurgence of Hero deck in France, of course it isn't the Electrum OTK version (because us Europeans don't have access to Gustaph). It's the A Hero Lives Mask Change version, where all you need is a couple of Blade Armor Ninja/Excalibur, Miracle Fusion and Mask Change to win. You can also have roughly 10 traps at your disposal, in case your opponent survived the assault.

JOTL-EN099 new weapon to combat Prophecy

Have you ever read Spellbook Judgment Day? That card basically says "Kill me next turn or I'll bury you with my grotesque hand". But what if every deck can effectively main 3 non-themed version of Spellbook Judgment Day? That's why this card comes to see the light:

Magical “C”
Earth/Insect/2/500/200
During either player’s turn: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; this turn, each time your opponent activates a Spell Card, immediately draw 1 card. You can only use 1 “Magical C”" per turn.

Goodbye Prophecy.

Anyway let's get back to the real scheme:

I also notice that recently I always wanted to try out unconventional moves in local tournaments. That actually helps in the long run, thanks to that "new" move I'm able to see another dimension of my deck. Oh and on DN, I always do that, lol.

I was very lazy lately (since when I wasn't???), I have to drop off my games and finish my project asap. It's also hard to explain what I was doing in the shadow (tbh, none other than study works, school project, games and sleep) because recently the girls always ask me out loud why I haven't responded to their messages. Troublesome =.=

I will revisit my Feature matches analysis once I can get over this week (2 project deadlines, then 2 exams.................)

Flashback: YCS Austin 2013.03.25 Top 8 Feature Match: Oscar Zelaya vs. Francisco Saldivar

Starting from today, I'll try to cover the feature matches of high level competitors. In my opinion, it's really important to understand what your deck could do and what your opponent could have to counter your moves. Correct me if I made any wrong comments during the process.

You can have a look at the original link here: http://www.konami.com/yugioh/blog/?p=12825

Today I want to feature Oscar Zelaya, who was already winning an YCS top at Ecuador. He then eventually becomes the champion of YCS Austin. Congratulation to him.

Duel One

Saldivar started off Duel 1 by discarding Atlantean Marksman to Special Summon Mermail Abyssteus and using Abyssteus’s effect to add Mermail Abysslinde from his Deck to his hand.
Since Saldivar is his friend, they already know what deck they are facing. Having Linde in hand and Teus on field allows him to crash Linde into any of Oscar's monster, then make Big Eye or Gaios in Main Phase 2 (MP2).

Next, he discarded Atlantean Marksman and Mermail Abysslinde to Special Summon Mermail Abyssmegalo, and used his Abyssmegalo’s effect to add Abyss-sphere to his hand. He Set a card to his back row and then combined his 2 Level 7 monsters to Xyz Summon Mermail Abyssgaios! He Set another card to his back row before ending his turn.
This move is self-explanatory I believe.
Abyssgaios
Zelaya opened up with Mystical Space Typhoon, Royal Decree, Atlantean Marksman, 2 copies of Abyss-sphere, and Dark Hole. He activated Dark Hole to destroy Mermail Abyssgaios and then Normal Summoned Atlantean Marksman. He attacked with his Marksman, and Saldivar lost 1400 Life Points. Next, Zelaya used his Marksman’s effect to Special Summon Atlantean Dragoons from his Deck, and attacked directly with his Dragoons. Zelaya Set Abyss-sphere and Royal Decree before attempting to enter his End Phase. Saldivar flipped Abyss-sphere in Main Phase 2, and Zelaya Chained Mystical Space Typhoon from his hand to destroy it.
Oscar has 2 Spheres in hand but he Set only one of them, because Sphere's main target is Linde, but you can only have 1 Linde's effect per turn. Setting 2 Spheres allows him to make instant Rank 7 or to have backup to opposite MST, but 2 Spheres for a rank 7  is too costly and leaves him with 0 defense other than his Gaios.

Saldivar Summoned Deep Sea Diva and activated its effect to Special Summon Atlantean Marksman. He activated Abyss-squall next, and Zelaya Chained Royal Decree; but Saldivar Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Royal Decree! Saldivar Special Summoned Mermail Abysslinde, Mermail Abyssteus, and Mermail Abyssmegalo from his Graveyard with Abyss-squall. He activated the effect of his Mermail Abyssmegalo by Tributing his Marksman to try to destroy Zelaya’s face-down Abyss-sphere; but Zelaya Chained it to Special Summon Mermail Abysslinde from his Deck, and the face-up Abyss-sphere stayed on the field. Next, Saldivar combined his Abyssmegalo with his Abyssteus to Xyz Summon Mermail Abyssgaios. He Tuned Deep Sea Diva with Mermail Abysslinde to Synchro Summon Ally of Justice Catastor next, and then attacked Marksman to destroy it with Abyssgaios. In the End Phase, Abyss-sphere was destroyed and Zelaya’s Mermail Abysslinde went down with it. Zelaya Special Summoned Mermail Abyssmegalo from his Deck with the effect of Mermail Abysslinde.
I think Saldivar has made a misplay here: he should have attacked Linde using Gaios, then Catastor to go after whatever monster from Linde's effect.
Saldivar has now 3 threats on his field: Megalo, Gaios and Catastor. Oscar has used Dark Hole, but he has a fresh Megalo on his field.

Zelaya drew Mermail Abysslinde next turn. Next, He Normal Summoned Mermail Abysslinde and attacked Catastor. Mermail Abysslinde was destroyed by Catastor’s effect, and Zelaya Special Summoned Mermail Abyssleed from his Deck with the effect of Mermail Abysslinde. He combined his Mermail Abyssleed with Mermail Abyssmegalo to Xyz Summon Mermail Abyssgaios and then switched his Atlantean Dragoons to Defense Position.
Saldivar attacked and destroyed Atlantean Dragoons with his Abyssgaios.
Zelaya attacked Saldivar’s Abyssgaios with his own, destroying them both.
Saldivar attacked directly with Catastor and then passed.
Zelaya Set a card to his back row and passed.
Saldivar tried to attack directly with Catastor again; but Zelaya Chained Abyss-sphere to Special Summon Mermail Abysslinde from his Deck in Defense Position. Catastor attacked and destroyed Mermail Abysslinde, and Zelaya Special Summoned Mermail Abyssmegalo from his Deck with its effect.
Zelaya activated Abyss-squall next turn! He Special Summoned Mermail Abyssleed, Mermail Abyssmegalo, and Mermail Abysslinde from his Graveyard, and then combined his 2 Level 7 Monsters to Summon Number 11: Big Eye. He detached an Xyz Material from Number 11: Big Eye to take control of Ally of Justice Catastor. Next, he Summoned Atlantean Marksman and Tributed it to allow Abyssmegalo to attack twice. Two direct attacks from Abyssmegalo and a direct attack from Catastor wiped out the last 4800 of Saldivar’s Life Points!
In the Mermail mirror match, Gaios proves to be important to stop opposite Big Eye. Once 2 Gaios are gone, Oscar is free to do whatever he wants to.
4-monster-finish
Oscar Zelaya takes the first Duel!
Well I should retreat now. Later :D

Duel Two

Saldivar started off Duel 2 by Summoning Mermail Abysspike and using its effect to discard Atlantean Dragoons and add Mermail Abyssgunde to his hand. Next, he used his Dragoons’s effect to add Mermail Abyssleed to his hand. He Special Summoned Mermail Abyssmegalo next, by discarding Mermail Abyssgunde and Mermail Abyssleed. He used Abyssmegalo’s effect to add Abyss-squall from his Deck to his hand, and then used the effect of Mermail Abyssgunde to Special Summon Mermail Abyssleed. Next, he Tributed Mermail Abysspike with the effect of Mermail Abyssleed to send Pot of Avarice from Zelaya’s hand to his Graveyard. Saldivar combined Mermail Abyssleed and Mermail Abyssmegalo next, in order to Xyz Summon Mermail Abyssgaios. He Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.
Francisco Saldivar
Zelaya started off his first turn of Duel 2 with Mermail Abyssteus, 2 copies of Mermail Abyssmegalo, Mermail Abysslinde, and Abyss-squall in his hand. He discarded Mermail Abysslinde to try to Special Summon Mermail Abyssteus; but Saldivar flipped Debunk to negate it and banish Abyssteus from the Duel. Zelaya Set Abyss-squall. In his Main Phase, Saldivar used Abyss-sphere to Special Summon Mermail Abysslinde from his Deck. Abyss-sphere and Mermail Abysslinde were destroyed in the End Phase, and Saldivar Special Summoned Mermail Abysspike from his Deck. He discarded Atlantean Dragoons from his hand to activate his Abysspike’s effect, and added Mermail Abysslinde and Deep Sea Diva from his Deck to his hand with the effect of Abysspike and Atlantean Dragoons.
Saldivar Summoned Deep Sea Diva and activated its effect to Special Summon Atlantean Marksman. He activated Mystical Space Typhoon next, destroying Zelaya’s Abyss-squall. Next, Atlantean Marksman attacked Zelaya directly, dropping him down to 6600 Life Points. Direct attacks from the rest of Saldivar’s monsters dropped Zelaya down to 200 Life Points.
5 Monsters
Saldivar combined Atlantean Dragoons and Mermail Abysspike to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller and then Tuned Deep Sea Diva with Atlantean Marksman to Synchro Summon Ally of Justice Catastor. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Zelaya drew a card and conceded, unable to overcome Saldivar’s field.
Francisco Saldivar takes a quick win in Duel 2 to push the Match to a final Duel! Oscar Zelaya will be going first in Duel 3!
Duel Three
Zelaya opened up Duel 3 with Mermail Abyssleed, Mermail Abysslinde, Mermail Abyssteus, Debunk, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Mermail Abysspike.
Zelaya's Duel 3 Opening Hand
He discarded Mermail Abyssleed to try to Special Summon Mermail Abyssteus in Defense Position, and Saldivar Chained Maxx “C” to draw a card. Zelaya added Mermail Abyssgunde to his hand with Abyssteus’s effect and Set Debunk before ending his turn.
Oscar Zelaya
Saldivar Set 2 cards to his back row and passed.
Zelaya drew Abyss-sphere and then Normal Summoned Mermail Abysspike. He used its effect by discarding Mermail Abyssgunde, and added Atlantean Marksman to his hand with the effect of his Mermail Abysspike. Next, he used his Mermail Abyssgunde’s effect to Special Summon Mermail Abyssleed from his Graveyard in Attack Position. He activated the effect of his Abyssleed to Tribute Abysspike and send Gorz the Emissary of Darkness from Saldivar’s hand to his Graveyard. Next, Zelaya attacked directly with Mermail Abyssleed, dropping Saldivar down to 5300 Life Points. Zelaya combined his Mermail Abyssteus with Mermail Abyssleed in Main Phase 2 to Xyz Summon Mermail Abyssgaios. He Set Abyss-sphere before attempting to enter his End Phase. Zelaya activated Abyss-sphere in Main Phase 2, and Zelaya Chained Mystical Space Typhoon from his hand to destroy it.
Saldivar activated Soul Taker to destroy Mermail Abyssgaios and grant 1000 Life Points to Zelaya. Next, he Normal Summoned Deep Sea Diva and used its effect to Special Summon Atlantean Marksman from his Deck. He tried to attack directly with his Marksman, but Zelaya flipped Abyss-sphere and Special Summoned Mermail Abysslinde from his Deck in Attack Position. In Main Phase 2, Saldivar Tuned his Diva with his Mermail Abysslinde to Synchro Summon Ally of Justice Catastor. Saldivar Set a card to his back row, and then in his End Phase, Zelaya’s Abyss-sphere and Mermail Abysslinde were destroyed, and Zelaya Special Summoned Mermail Abysspike from his Deck. He used its effect by discarding Atlantean Marksman, and added Mermail Abysslinde from his Deck to his hand. The effect of Atlantean Marksman destroyed Saldivar’s face-down Abyss-squall.
Zelaya Set a monster and passed.
Saldivar attacked Mermail Abysspike with Catastor to destroy it.
Zelaya Normal Summoned Deep Sea Diva and used its effect to Special Summon Atlantean Marksman from his Deck. He Tuned his Marksman with his Diva to Synchro Summon T.G. Hyper Librarian and then attacked Ally of Justice Catastor to destroy it and deal 200 points of damage to Saldivar.
Saldivar discarded Mermail Abysslinde and Mermail Abyssgunde to try to Special Summon Mermail Abyssmegalo; but Zelaya flipped Debunk to negate Abyssmegalo and banish it! Zelaya Chained Maxx “C” to the effect of Abyssgunde, and Saldivar Special Summoned Mermail Abysslinde from his Graveyard in Defense Position with Abyssgunde, allowing Zelaya to draw a card.
Zelaya attacked Saldivar’s Mermail Abysslinde with his T.G. Hyper Librarian, destroying it and allowing Saldivar to Special Summon Mermail Abyssleed from his Deck in Attack Position. Next, Zelaya attacked Mermail Abyssleed with his Abysslinde. He lost 1200 Life Points and Special Summoned Mermail Abyssmegalo from his Deck with the effect of Mermail Abysslinde. Zelaya Set a monster and Set Mystical Space Typhoon before ending his turn.
Saldivar attacked and destroyed Abyssmegalo with Abyssleed.
Zelaya drew Atlantean Dragoons. He switched his T.G. Hyper Librarian into Defense Position and then passed his turn.
Saldivar Summoned Mermail Abysslinde and attacked Zelaya’s face-down Mermail Abysslinde to destroy it. Zelaya Special Summoned Mermail Abyssteus from his Deck in Defense Position, and Mermail Abyssleed attacked and destroyed Abyssteus.
Zelaya drew Pot of Avarice next turn! He activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Saldivar’s face-down Mind Crush and then activated Pot of Avarice! He sent Deep Sea Diva, Mermail Abysslinde, Mermail Abyssmegalo, and 2 copies of Mermail Abyssteus from his Graveyard to his Deck to draw 2 cards. Next, he discarded 2 copies of Atlantean Dragoons to Special Summon Mermail Abyssmegalo. He added Abyss-squall to his hand with his Abyssmegalo’s effect and added 2 copies of Deep Sea Diva to his hand with the effect of his 2 Dragoons. He Summoned a Diva and used its effect to Special Summon Atlantean Heavy Infantry. Next, he Tributed his Diva to allow his Abyssmegalo to attack twice. He used Atlantean Heavy Infantry’s effect to Normal Summon Deep Sea Diva, and then used his Diva’s effect to Special Summon Deep Sea Diva form his Deck in Defense Position. Next, Zelaya Tuned Deep Sea Diva with Atlantean Heavy Infantry to Synchro Summon Armory Arm, drawing a card with T.G. Hyper Librarian. He switched T.G. Hyper Librarian to Attack Position and then equipped Armory Arm to Mermail Abyssmegalo. Abyssmegalo attacked Mermail Abyssleed to deal 3400 points of damage to Saldivar, and then attacked Mermail Abysslinde to deal another 3400 points of damage to Saldivar, wiping out the rest of his Life Points!

The report topic is locked because we had too many hot headed duelists over there LOL. This blocks me from getting any further info.

X-2 decks consist mostly of Fire Fist (lv4) and Mermail (nothing new). Some pre-LTGY Spellbook decks got really close to top, surprisingly.

That's all for today.
